Dance Like Us

There is nothing more enjoyable than going dancing anywhere in Acadiana. Here, such an evening is usually set aside for the entire family. You are guarenteed to see everyone from newborn babies to people quite advanced in age. The elderly couples are often the best dancers on the floor. You will also see parents dancing with newborn babies and toddlers, and children (from toddlers to teens) dancing with each other. No one bats an eye when a toddler dances by with an octogenarian.

We had to laugh at one of the comments on one of the videos we are including here. It says that Cajuns have more fun than the law allows. We totally agree! So come on down and pass a good time! Bring ya mama-n-em too!

To help you get started, we are including two videos. One will teach you the basics of Cajun dancing. The other will show you how it looks in real life. Neither clip is new but Cajun dancing is one thing you can count on to stay the same as long as there is one Frenchman left in Louisiana.

This is a real dance lesson that was uploaded to YouTube by The Advertiser.

This is a clip from the "Laissez Les Bon Temps Rouler from Randol's," featuring The Jambalaya Cajun Band.

Cook Like Us

Laurin Knott is a housewife who lives in Arnaudville. She fishes in her pond, rides her horses, cajun dances, cruises Bayou Teche in her canoe, and She Cooks. We have collected her cooking videos from YouTube to make certain that as many people as possible are able to see them. Although Laurin hasn't updated her YouTube channel in a while, we hope you will subscribe to The Cajun Wife Show and encourage her to continue adding to this list of wonderful cooking experiences.

Lauren is married to Dorsey Knott, one of the 3 Knott brothers who brought us our own local beer. See it here at Bayou Teche Brewing.
